4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some,
evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 4:12 For the perfecting
of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the
body of Christ: EPHESIANS Chapter 4
12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles,
secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then
gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
1_CORINTHIANS Chapter 12
5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members
one of another.6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace
that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to
the proportion of faith; Romans 12
God gave to the Church of the mystery gifts. I do not speak about
the sign of the kingdom during the kingdom preaching but about the
gifts
for the edifying of the body of Christ: When you read it you
will understand that those are thing that God gave, not through laying
hand but because:
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity
captive, and gave gifts unto men.
EPHESIANS Chapter 4
I am writing about it because I want to make clear that the
knowledge about those gifts we can only find in Paul letters Romans through
Philemon. Whether we read in his letter to the Corinthian or in His
letter to the Ephesians, we are talking about the same gifts that as fare
that we can understand were in operation during Paul’s life or like
the word say:
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry,
for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the
unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a
perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of
Christ:
Note that those gifts, has nothing to do with the
fact that Paul, in the beginning of his ministry, went first to
the synagogue. Like we saw the purpose of the gifts was , for the
edifying of the body of Christ:
The word say:
4:11 And he gave some…..
So do you mean that today 2010 we do not have gifts? Yes if we
agree that the purpose of the gifts was only for certain period
the edifying of the body of Christ:
then that period is over long time ago I when also the last apostle
and prophets of the church was gone.
So who is this teacher from God if we do not have any more the gift?
2:7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the
truth in Christ, [and] lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in
faith and verity. 1 tim 2
Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no
man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
John 3
You see there was a time that people preach Christ according to the
revelation of the mystery with special gift. They teach exactly as
it was and should be because they were teaching through the power of
gift. God gave him what to teach.
Today it is different – a church might have
office of a bishop
which also apt to teach but what he teach depend much
from whom he learned.
I am happy in my life the around 1980 I started to read some of C.R.
Stam works. He was a able teacher of the word like many other
brethren that I met during the years in the USA. But does it mean
that those people had the the gift of teaching? No ! Did they have
the gift of being Pastors ? No! and no one today can ordain you for
this like God did with Paul.
2:7 Whereunto I am ordained
So if you teach others in this dispensation of Grace just think
about:
14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee
by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the
presbytery.
But for us today who did not get any gift: we have to Take heed
unto thyself, and unto the doctrine -
15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy
profiting may appear to all. 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto
the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both
save thyself, and them that hear thee. |
