11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached
of me is not after man. 12 For I neither received it of man,
neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past
in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the
church of God, and wasted it: 14 And profited in the Jews' religion
above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly
zealous of the traditions of my fathers. 15 But when it pleased God,
who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,
16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the
heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:
Galatians chapter 1 King James Version
We know that Paul letter to the Galatians is his
first letter. But in the bible it is not the first but Romans is the
first. However we should understand that when Paul mention
that the gospel which
was preached of me is not after man.
He is not talking only about the
salvation of the believer but the Gospel as the whole
revelation/good new that Christ gave to the Church.
If you are a so called “grace believer” you already know that Paul
received his gospel by revelation from the Lord.
After I came to understand that Paul had only one
ministry and that the Bible does not teach about “transition period”
or “early / Prison letters” I went to search after what does it mean
” neither
received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation
of Jesus Christ”.
So
if you ask me what does Paul received by
revelation of Jesus Christ”
my answer is short. Everything what he write in his letters to the
Church the body of Christ (Romans-Philemon). And why I say it?
Because this what the scripture really say.
neither
received it of man, neither was I taught it,
So if you thought
that because Paul was educated Jewish person. He could write because
of his knowledge in the old testament. Now you understand that it
is much better to go by the book: neither received it of man,
neither was I taught it,
that the gospel which was preached
In
order to understand that Paul received the revelation from the Lord.
We must first understand the word GOSPEL. Yes it is the good new but
not only about our salvation. It is the full revelation of the
mystery that he received for the Church.
So dear fellow believer. When you read or study Paul’s letters. I
must remind you and me too that you read a godly revelation that was
kept secret and reveled first to Paul.
So if Paul himself, write to us that from the
beginning God separated him: But when it
pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me
by his grace, 16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him
among the heathen;
Why then there are people who find it hard to accept that everything
that Paul’s write to us is part of that same gospel.
What are the major truth that made people to come with a theory like
“ transition period”? and as a result not to accept all what Paul
was teaching.
28 And God hath set some in the church, first
apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that
miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of
tongues. 1
Corinthians chapter 12 King James Version
Dear reader, when you read those words you can explain it in many
ways. You can say if you want that is was because Pauls had at that
time Jewish ministry. You can say if you want that it was because he
went first to the Jew. But one thing you cannot denied. Paul write
those things like many other thing as part of:
11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel
which was preached of me is not after man. but by the revelation of
Jesus Christ.
So also what Pauls write in 1 Corinthians chapter 12:28 is part of
the same revelation of the mystery. When Paul mention
after that miracles, - then gifts of
healings, -helps, governments, -diversities of tongues.
He does not talk about the continuation of Mark chapter 16:
17 And these signs shall follow them that
believe;
Those
kingdom signs where already gone when Israel rejected the kingdom.
If those are kingdom signs how it will be part of the new revelation
to the Church.
And what about: 22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks
seek after wisdom:
Yes
the verse say For the Jews require a sign! Which Jew? The
unbeliever Jew. Did Paul ever do any miracles at the synagogue? No !
Paul himself give us the simple answer!
28 And God hath set some in the church.
1 kor 12:28
So you see the miracles in the church is not because
the Jew but because
God hath set
as part of the revelation of the mystery.
18 For I will not dare to speak of any of those
things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles
obedient, by word and deed, 19 Through mighty signs and
wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from
Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached
the gospel of Christ.
20 Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not
where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's
foundation: Romans chapter 15 King James Version
12:11
I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to
have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very
chiefest apostles, though I be nothing. 12:12 Truly the signs of
an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and
wonders, and mighty deeds.
2 CORINTHIANS Chapter 12
We
see what happen when we go by the book.
signs and wonders
because God set them for the
Church of the mystery and because of the Apostle. And not because
there is “transition period”.
if you ever wonder what kind of gospel Paul was witnessing in
Jerusalem so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum,
I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
Now you understand that Paul was preaching only one and the same
gospel of Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery.
It is according to the same gospel that God once
28
And God hath set some in the church
first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that
miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of
tongues. 1 kor 12:28
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some,
evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;12 For the perfecting of
the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the
body of Christ:
Ephesians chapter 4
But are those gift gone because of the transition
period was over or is it just because the Apostle was not any more.
Let think about it.
Will be continue.
